On Thursday 9th December 2021, Year 11 students at Lynch Hill Enterprise Academy took part in an interview day.

A selected group of business volunteers from the private & public sectors were on hand to conduct the interviews. These included representatives from telecommunications, real estate & technological sectors. The focus was to provide students with an in-person interview experience and gain confidence in such a setting.

Earlier this school year, the students completed a CV workshop, and this was used in their interviews alongside a chosen job advertisement. During the 25-30 minute slots, an interview took place with one of the business volunteers followed by feedback regarding their performance and CV.

Over 94% of students stated this improved their CV skills & how to present themselves at an interview. The students gave their opinions of their experiences of the process.

“The interview was very beneficial and was a good practice for work experience”
“I value the feedback given back to me and as well as the information the experience has provided for me”

For many students, it was the first job interview they had completed and the opportunity to grow as individuals

“I think this really helped me boost my confidence and talking skills and my understanding of the world of work

Gatsby benchmarks for this event:

Addressing the needs of each individual
Linking curriculum learning to careers
Encounters with employers & employees

Personal guidance.

The students completed an evaluation form to express their feelings of the event. Almost 90% stated a better understanding of the workplace & feeling more confident speaking to those they’ve never met before.

We’d like to thank all the students, business volunteers and all involved in making this an incredible event.
